How to dye sheer curtains? - white sheer curtains

I have made of white gauze curtains that I bought some time ago, but now they look too boring. I want a darker color like brown or some color. I have no money to buy anything, because we have many windows in the room. I wonder whether there's a little less expensive for the dye permanently?
